About Us

alt

Myrtle Beach Restaurant News is the natural evolution of a classically trained journalist, Becky Billingsley, who used to "work for the man." Now I cover my restaurant beat from Little River to Georgetown with the help of a few talented and dedicated stringers. We publish every day, bringing a depth of restaurant news coverage to the Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand areas that no other local media outlet comes close to providing.

In the five years that MyrtleBeachRestaurantNews.com has existed, the site has climbed steadily in popularity. As of Nov. 6, 2011, the site has a U.S. ranking of 44,000, and a global ranking of 240,500. We average 10,000 unique readers per month, and every single one of them is a person interested in dining out.

Another way Myrtle Beach Restaurant News is unique is that we NEVER charge restaurants to write about them. The news is free. Period.

Many other startup Web sites offer "sponsored content," which means "We'll write an article about you if you pay for it." That means the reader can't trust that the information is honest and accurate, because it was bought and paid for.

Yes, we sell advertising. But the advertising has no influence on our news coverage.

There are other Myrtle Beach sites with restaurant information on them, but many of them include news ONLY about their advertisers. We welcome and encourage news from any Grand Strand restaurant, big or small, fine dining or casual. And there is never a fee to report that news.
