Roaches Revealed in Myrtle Beach Restaurant Health & Safety Inspections

Saturday, July 16, 2011 – The presence of roaches, raw chicken held at 74F, raw beef at 83F, shrimp at 72F and an employees observed not washing hands after handling raw meat are some of the reasons why three restaurants in Horry and Georgetown counties earning B scores this week on their health and safety inspections.
Each week we publish the current week's restaurant inspection health and safety scores for Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. We publish the full reports from any inspection that results in lower than an A score.
When you see a 10 in the listing, that means the DHEC food inspector made a routine unannounced visit. A 15 indicates a follow-up visit where only items in violation during a previous routine visit are inspected. The inspectors use a checklist of 36 items.
Inspection grades are:
A: 88-100
B: 78-87
C: 70-77
