Two B Inspection Scores at Myrtle Beach Area Chinese Restaurants

Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, Myrtle Beach – Two Asian restaurants, one in Pawleys Island and one in Surfside Beach, earned B scores in this week’s Myrtle Beach area restaurant health and safety inspections.
At China Wok in Pawleys Island, the lowest B score of 78 resulted from improper food temperatures, food stored uncovered and not at least six inches off the floor, and several dirty and greasy areas that need cleaned. New China Buffet’s score of 82 was also due in large part to a lack of cleanliness.
Each week we publish the current week's restaurant inspection health and safety scores for Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. We also publish the full reports from any inspection with scores lower than an A.
Readers will notice in the full reports references regarding which part of the regulations established by the S.C. Dept. of Health and Environmental Control were violated.

When you see a 10 in the listing, that means the DHEC food inspector made a routine unannounced visit. A 15 indicates a follow-up visit where only items in violation during a previous routine visit are inspected. The inspectors use a checklist of 36 items.
Inspection grades are:
A: 88-100
B: 78-87
C: 70-77
