Firing up a Trademark Debate

UPDATE: A federal court decided in August 2011 Calli Baker's Firehouse Bar & Grill can keep its name and national chain Firehouse Subs wrongfully trademarked "firehouse." Firehouse Subs has to pay the legal expenses for Calli Baker's owner.

Coastal Uncorked Misses Financial Filing Deadline

UPDATE: Coastal Uncorked will not receive a fine for its report being received one day late by the S.C. Secretary of State office. Renee Daggerhart of the government office said, "We have a forward on our former post office box.  Had the 990 not been held at the post office, the 990 would have been received in the office on Monday, the 15th.  Coastal Uncorked will not be issued a fine."

Tuesday, August 16, 2011, Myrtle Beach - Coastal Uncorked, a Myrtle Beach wine and food festival that has received at least $380,000 in public funding, did not file its financial records with the S.C. Secretary of State office by its Aug. 15 deadline.

Sunday, August 7, 2011, Murrells Inlet - Breakfast lovers have been buzzing about the $5 breakfast being served Sunday mornings at the Beaver Bar in Murrells Inlet, and today the meal is a fund-raiser to benefit a local woman who has been battling cancer for several years.
