Myrtle Beach Easter 2011: Hearty Dining

I have been adding to the Easter dining list since it was first published on April 10, so now Myrtle Beach locals and visitors have many more restaurant choices.


The Myrtle Beach area encompasses all the beach between Little River and Georgetown, so I've broken up the listings into three parts, from north to south.



Little River and North Myrtle Beach


The Brentwood

From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Easter Sunday, Chef Eric Masson and his staff are offering a family-style Easter dinner menu for $25 ages 11 and older, $9 ages 10 and younger, and free ages 3 and younger. The meal includes salad, turkey, honey glazed ham, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, house-made gravy, Penne Bolognese, sauteed spring vegetables, freshly baked bread and French Apple Tart a la mode. A private dining room is available for large parties. Three holiday drink specials for $5 each are Mimosa, Bloody Mary and Kir Royal Screwdriver. A special a la carte menu will also be available.


The Parson's Table

The Parson's Table, which is a beautiful restaurant in a former church with loads of stained glass windows, will be open for reservations from 1-6 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Chef/owner Ed Murray, Jr., will serve his full regular dinner menu plus the following specials: Roast Leg of Lamb with rosemary jus and mint horseradish sauce for $18; and Brown Sugar Glazed Ham with pineapple raisin sauce for $16.

On Easter Sunday, both locations of Salsarita's will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.. They're going to have a $9.49 special where you get a customized Wet Burrito, house-made Chips, and Queso dip topped with Ranchero Sauce. House Margaritas will be $3 all day along with Margaritaville Tequila for $4. A Take Home Taco Pack is $5 per person and includes two tacos with soft or crunchy shells, chips and salsa.

On Easter Sunday, SeaBlue will serve brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 5-10 p.m. Reservations highly suggested. For brunch, with prices starting at $11, the sample a la carte menu includes Colossal Crab Benedict "Oscar Style", SeaBlue Eggs Benedict with Prosciutto di Parma and Truffled Hollandaise, USDA Prime Steak and Eggs, Artisan Style Frittatas, Bananas Foster French Toast, and Grilled Caesar Salad with Lobster, Shrimp, or Organic Chicken.

A buffet for $32 ages 13 and older; $26 for seniors and $15 ages 4-12 will be offered from noon to 4 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Salad station selections include local baby greens, marinated artichoke hearts, Thai basil cucumber, Bermuda onion, feta cheese, lemon vinaigrette, Granny Smith apples, blood oranges, celery, candied walnuts, heirloom tomatoes, fresh Buffalo mozzarella salad, grilled potato and mushroom salad and chive dressing. At the seafood station there'll be local peel & eat shrimp, oysters on the half shell, New Zealand green lip mussels on the half shell, whole poached salmon, salmon medallions and dill sauce, five pepper crusted ahi tuna, ginger noodle salad, seafood ceviche and made-to-order-spicy lobster hand rolls. A carving station will feature roast prime rib au jus, Yukon Gold potatoes au gratin, roasted leg of lamb with mint jus, and half-mashed Beauregard sweet potatoes. The entree table will be loaded with Eggs Benedict Florentine with brie; Cheese Blintz with wild berry ragout; bacon, chicken apple sausage, chicken breast with tomato-mushroom salsa; grilled salmon with lemon herb caper sauce; whild mushroom ravioli, and seasonal vegetables. If you save room for dessert the choices are Inside Out German Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Mango Tarts, Grasshopper Cake, Cherries Jubilee Cheesecake, Easter Coconut Cake, Jell-O, Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Tiramisu, assorted Chocolate Truffles, and Vanilla Gelato Sundaes.



Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Easter Sunday, a brunch buffet for $20 ages 12 and older and $12 ages 11 and younger will be served. Buffet items include: Scrambled Eggs, French Toast, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Breakfast Potatoes, Honey Baked Ham, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Bratwurst and Caramelized Onions, Orange Glazed Chicken, Pasta Primavera, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Grits, Jasmine Rice, Seasonal Vegetables, Seasonal Fruit, House Salad, Parker House Rolls, Apple Bread Pudding and Triple Chocolate Brownies. GB also has beer growlers. The jugs are $15, and refills are $11. The jugs have ceramic and wire lock-down caps that keep the beer fresh longer than conventional screw-on caps. Beers produced on-site at the restaurant are made according to German law, which means only barley, hops, water and yeast are used. Varieties include Czech Pilsner, Marzen, Schwarzbier, Hefeweizen and an ever-changing lineup of seasonal treats like Winter Bock and Maibock.

From 9-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, Buttons the Bunny will visit Hard Rock and enjoy a breakfast buffet. You can join him for $10 per person. The buffet will include assorted breakfast pastries, fruit salad, scrambled eggs, French toast sticks with maple syrup, biscuits and gravy, grits, smoked bacon, country sausage, hash brown potatoes, orange juice, coffee and tea. There will also be a special visit from Sharkee, the mascot from Ripley's Aquarium.


Longbeard's Bar & Grill

Chef Joey O'Shell is preparing a couple of Easter specials such as 10-ounce Prime Rib with mashed sweet potatoes and collards for $17; and a Traditional Honey Glazed Ham Dinner with mashed sweet potatoes and collards  for $14. Reservations are preferred; the food is prepared according to reservation times.

From noon to 9 p.m., a four-course dinner for $59 per couple includes cheese fondue, salad, entree and chocolate fondue. Children's portions for $5 are also available.

From 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Crady's is serving several specials from Scotch Eggs with micro greens to Braised Beef Short Rib with Parsnip Puree and Roasted Root Vegetables and Porcini and Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb.

For $28 adults and $14 for children, a special buffet will be served with seatings available between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Selections will include She-Crab Soup, Baby Greens Salad, Deviled Eggs, Asparagus with lemon pepper aioli, Cajun Crab Eggs Benedict, Banana Brown Sugar Pancakes, Chicken Santorino, Honey and Herb Road Loin of Pork, Potato Crusted Salmon with dill beurre blanc, grilled vegetables, Honey Baked Ham with pineapple jam, Shrimp Dijonnaise, Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb, Filet Mignon carving station with Port Wine Demi-Glace, a sundae bar, Chocolate Fudge Nut Pie, Key Lime Pie, Coconut Cake and Lemon Bars.

This blazing hot new spot in Murrells Inlet will serve a Bliss-ful Easter meal for $30 per person, plus tax and gratuity, with three seatings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The price includes a choice of a complimentary Mimosa Bellini or Bloody Mary, and dishes include Grand Marnier glazed Black Oak ham, rosemary roasted leg of lamb, salad, spring pea soup, scrambled eggs, Italian frittata, bacon, sausage, white chocolate and blueberry French toast casserole, grilled salmon with apricot glaze, herb-marinated breast of chicken, spring vegetable ragout, fruit cobbler and assorted cakes and pies.

Open Easter day from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. serving full breakfast and lunch menus with the following specials: Stuffed French Toast topped with Fresh Berries and Candied Pecans Served with a cup of Grits. Crab Cake Benedict: Toasted English Muffin split and each half topped with 2oz crab cakes, over medium eggs and hollendaise sauce. Steak (ribeye) and Cheese omelet served with Homefries and Toast. Vegetable Quiche (tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, zuchinni and feta cheese) served with a cup of fresh fruit. All menu items and specials are priced $10.49 and less including crab cake plate, wraps, sandwiches, salads, omelets, egg plates, quesadillas, and more.
