By Becky Billingsley
Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, Georgetown - A family visiting Georgetown arrived with a bang when their car's driver crashed into Thomas Cafe on Front Street.

The accident happened at lunchtime today when the driver, who was parking nose-in in front of the diner, hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. The car hit the building to the right of the front door, breaking bricks below a picture window and also punching a hole in the window.
No one was injured in the accident, including a family who was seated at a table inside the restaurant just inside the broken window.
According to a report in the Georgetown Times, the car's driver was not charged but was noted as contributing to the accident.
