New Restaurants: Myrtle Beach Restaurant News Weekend Roundup

 

The vegetarian lunch buffet at Redi-et Ethiopian Cuisine in Myrtle Beach is $6.50.

Friday, June 29, 2012, Myrtle Beach -  Several new restaurants are opening, vegetarians will be thrilled with the new no-meat buffet in downtown Myrtle Beach, a Murrells Inlet restaurant is giving away free food and beer on Sunday and a new Sunday brunch is launching in Little River.

 

New Vegetarian Lunch Buffet

 

Redi-et Ethiopian Cuisine in downtown Myrtle Beach has a new $6.50 vegetarian lunch buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. two days per week: Wednesdays and Saturdays. The buffet includes Atkilt Alicha (potatoes, green beans and carrots with ginger and garlic); Misir Wat (red split lentils); Misir Alicha (lentils with garlic, onions, ginger turmeric and more); Kik Kei Wat (peas with red chili pepper powder and more); Kil Alicha (split peas, mild); Cabbage Wat; Gomen (collards); Shiro Wat (sun-dried peas and beans); Spinach; lettuce/tomato salad; rice; and Injera bread.

 

These dishes are completely delicious. Some are spicy, some are not. You'll leave full, but not over-full, and your body will thank you for the veggie blast.

Solano's Trattoria will open next week in downtown Conway.

Solano's Trattoria Opening Next Week

 

Anticipated for more than a year, Solano's Trattoria at 328 Laurel St. in Conway's downtown Black Water Market is planning to open for dinner service sometime next week. Hugo Solano and Vitaliy Miroff are the owners, and on June 28 Vitaliy was in the handsomely decorated restaurant putting final touches on the decor. The restaurant will serve dishes such as Pork Saltimbocca, Eggplant Parmesan, Calamari (rings and tentacles, fried, with a marinara/lemon/basil aioli) and pizzas including Margherita and Toscana, which is topped with prosciutto and roasted vegetables. Dinner hours will be 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and the number is (843) 488-4008. Eventually lunch hours will also be added.

Carolina Fish Fry is now open in North Myrtle Beach, across from Barefoot Landing.

Carolina Fish Fry Reopens in North Myrtle Beach

 

The second location of Carolina Fish Fry (the original is at 4267 Broad St. in Loris) is now open at 4515 U.S. 17 S. in North Myrtle Beach, across from Barefoot Landing. The restaurant moved from 801 Main St. in North Myrtle Beach, where Royal Fish Fry is now located.

 

Carolina Fish Fry, owned by Alexander Karos and Richard Stroud, has fried flounder, Alaskan whitefish, creek shrimp, deviled crabs, clam strips, crab cakes, scallops and North Carolina oysters in baskets, platters, pita wraps, Po' Boy sandwiches and family-size buckets. Grilled seafood shrimp, scallops, crab cakes and salmon are also available.

 

Prices range from $5 for a pita wrap to $24 for the buckets, such as 1 pound of shrimp and 10 pieces of flounder. All buckets come with slaw, hush puppies, fries and a half-gallon of iced tea.

 

Carolina Fish Fry opens daily at 11 a.m., and it has a drive-through window. The number for the North Myrtle Beach location is (843) 273-0258.

 

Soon a third Carolina Fish Fry will open at 2301 S. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, where a Bojangle's was formerly located.

 

Fuego, a new waterfront Murrells Inlet Mexican restaurant, has been completely remodeled.

Fuego Forthcoming

 

General Manager Jimmy Todd says Fuego Mexican Grill & Cantina at 4871 U.S. 17 Business in Murrells Inlet has about two or three weeks to go before its grand opening. The restaurant, which was formerly Captain Poo's, has been completely remodeled on the inside. Large booths have multiple types and colors of woods, walls are varying shades of blue, and orange and red ceramic tiles on half-walls lend a festive air.

 

Fuego is located beside the waterfront in Murrells Inlet, and has a large screened-in porch.

 

New Brunch at Fibber's

 

On Sunday, July 8, Fibber's on the Water, which is waterfront in Little River, is launching a new brunch available 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays.

 

The new brunch menu includes:

 

Build Your Own Omelet- $8.95

 

Two-egg omelet, stuffed with a choice of two of the following -

ham, bacon, sausage, peppers, shallots, mushrooms, spinach, or

tomatoes. Served with hash browns and toast.

 

Seafood Omelet- $10.95

 

Two-egg omelet, stuffed with shrimp, crabmeat, shallots, mushrooms,

tomatoes, and cheese. Served with hash browns and toast.

 

French Toast- $7.95

 

Texas Toast dipped in a nutmeg egg batter, grilled golden brown and

dusted with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Served with hash browns

and toast.

 

Shrimp & Grits- $8.95

 

"A Southern Favorite"

 

Creamy grits mixed with onions, spicy sausage, and cheddar cheese,

topped with baby shrimp.

 

Eggs Benedict- $8.95

 

Toasted English muffin topped with Canadian bacon, poached egg, and a

creamy Hollandaise sauce. Served with potatoes.

 

Biscuits and Gravy- $6.95

 

Two homemade golden hot biscuits topped with homemade sausage

gravy.

 

Quiche- $9.95

 

Spinach, Swiss Cheese, shrimp, fish and crabmeat, loaded in a flaky

Rivertown Grill is soon opening at the north end of Conway.The building that housed Cherry Grove Seafood Hut is undergoing a thorough gutting and remodel, and has had a deck added.

Rivertown Grill Coming to Conway

 

Rivertown Grill is soon opening at 2635 Main St. in Conway, in the former location of Seafood Express and the Red, White and Blue Roadside Grill. Among other dishes, the restaurant will serve omelets, French toast and pancakes for breakfast, and burgers, hot dogs, chicken and wings later in the day. It will also have free WiFi. Cherry Grove Restaurant Remodel

 

The former Cherry Grove Seafood Hut at 203 Sea Mountain Highway in North Myrtle Beach is undergoing renovations. The interior is being completely stripped down and remodeled, and a second-story deck with a terrific view of the ocean has been added. Construction workers at the site said the landlord is seeking a tenant.
