Eggs Benedict is on the Sunday Brunch Buffet at Chestnut Hill in Myrtle Beach.

Tuesday, August 7, 2012, Myrtle Beach - Some restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area have brunch on Saturdays as well as Sundays, for a double dose of the creative breakfast/lunch deliciousness.

 

Chestnut Hill

10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sundays – Full Bar – Buffet - $20 ages 12-60; $17 ages 61 and older or ages 11-16; $10 ages 4-10; and free for ages 3 and younger

 

Located beside a small pond where there’s a resident alligator, the lavish brunch at Chestnut Hill is one of the area’s longest-running Sunday dining traditions. The number of dishes offered is impressive; just a small sampling includes Poached Salmon, fresh Local Shrimp, Waldorf Salad with apples and walnuts, fresh fruits, Oysters on the Half Shell, Eggs Benedict, Corned Beef Hash, sweet and savory Cheese Blintzes, Certified Angus Top Round of Beef au jus, Baked Virginia Ham with honey mustard sauce, Southern Fried Chicken, Chicken Teriyaki, Grilled Quail and tenderly moist Barbecue Ribs. Desserts are a specialty at Chestnut Hill, like Homemade Bread Pudding, Chestnut Hill's signature Fruit and Nut Cobblers and Cheesecakes.

Brunch goes way upscale at Crady’s Restaurant in Conway, with eclectic surroundings and dishes to match, such as Goat Cheese-Stuffed Peppadews; Strawberry Spinach Salad with gorgonzola, toasted pistachios and balsamic dressing; Barbara’s House-Made Quiche; Crab Cake Sliders; and Seared Flounder with caper tarragon butter sauce over stone-ground grits and grilled asparagus.

The brunch menu at this waterfront restaurant includes Seafood Omelet, Seafood Quiche, Shrimp and Grits, Biscuits and Gravy and Eggs Benedict.

 

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays – Full Bar – A La Carte

 

With your handcrafted beer (or a Bloody Mary or Mimosa from the full bar), you can enjoy dishes such as Crab Omelet, Bistro Filet Benedict, Scramblers or the Hangover Pizza with scrambled eggs, Andouille sausage, roasted red peppers, onions and sour cream.

 

It is hard to decide which is better - the Seafood Crepes or the view at Gulfstream Cafe in Garden City.

The a la carte menu is exquisite with choices including Oyster Shooters with Absolut Peppar vodka, Fresh Fruit with Vanilla-Honey Yogurt, She-Crab Soup,

Stuffed French Toast, King Crab Omelet and Black & Blue Tuna salad.

 

Louis's at Sanford's

The a la carte menu includes Greek Yogurt and Granola with Fresh Fruit; Buttermilk Biscuit with Sausage Gravy; French Toast with Sorghum Butter, plus Bacon or Sausage; Country Eggs Benedict with a buttermilk biscuit, Benton's country ham, fresh local eggs and Hollandaise; Shrimp, Pepper, Mushroom and Swiss Omelet; and Sunday Skillet Fried Chicken with green beans, squash casserole, rice and gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit. Two special brunch beverages are Mango Fizz and Brandy Milk Punch.

The brunch menu is not extensive, but selections are impeccable, like Fried Green Tomatoes with Andouille sausage and shrimp in creamy shrimp sauce; or Fresh Catch of the Day (blackened, grilled or seared) with tomato/Champagne vinaigrette over angel hair pasta.
