Tuesday, August 28, 2012, Myrtle Beach – Two restaurants are new to the Myrtle Beach area – one in Conway and one in the Tanger Outlet Center food court at the north end of Myrtle Beach.

The one in Conway will be called AlPhi’s Reef Seafood, which will open within a week or so at 621 Church St., in the former Burger Brothers Steak and Buffet location. The owners are Alex Odom and Phil Floyd, who between them have decades of experience.

Odom said, in a phone conversation on Aug. 27, that a mother-daughter team who cook with a lot of soul will be in the kitchen: Mattie and Monique Mimms.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served seven days a week at AlPhie’s, and the menu will include dishes like Seafood Omelet, fresh Croissants, Burgers, Steaks, Seafood and a fixed-price Twilight Special from 4:30-5:30 p.m. for $10-$14 that includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert and beverage.

When it opens, the hours at Alphi’s Reef Seafood will be 6-10 a.m., 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4:30-9 p.m. The phone number is (843) 488-5004.

Earlier this month, Charley's Philly Steaks opened in the food court of the Tanger Outlet Center at 10835 Kings Rd. in Myrtle Beach. The franchise partner is Isabel Gonzalez, and it is the second Charley’s in the Myrtle Beach area, although the one at Coastal Grand Mall is called Charley's Steakery. Both restaurants are part of Charley's Grilled Subs.

Charley’s is known for Philly Steak Sandwiches, Cheese Fries, Salads and other sub sandwiches. The steak in the sandwiches is 94 percent fat-free, and it is piled high.

There are more than 450 worldwide Charley’s locations, with more than 50 new ones opening this year. The company was founded by Charley Shin, the company’s CEO, in 1986.
