Two New Restaurants

Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, Myrtle Beach – A new restaurant and a coffee shop will soon open in Surfside Beach and Garden City.
The one in Garden City is a new Eggs Up Grill, which is going in the former location of Garden City Beach Café at 2520 U.S. 17 Business S. The operator is Lou Skodras, who also has the Surfside Beach Eggs Up Grill.
It takes about three months to upfit a new Eggs Up restaurant, according to Tanya Ladd, the front of house manager at the Pawleys Island Eggs Up Grill, who is also the daughter of Eggs Up founder, Chris Skodras.
Another new Eggs Up – the fifth one overall and the first location outside the Grand Strand area – recently opened in Mount Pleasant. It is the largest Eggs Up to date, with 79 interior seats.
The new Surfside Beach business is a Starbucks, which is being built in the new strip shopping center under construction by the Bojangles’ restaurant at 104 Loyola Dr. in Surfside Beach, which is off U.S. 17 Bypass just south of the intersection with S.C. 544.
