New Socastee Pizzeria

Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, Myrtle Beach – A new pizza shop is in the Socastee area of Myrtle Beach, and it has a great BOGO special.
Anthony Favoroso grew up in a restaurant family, in the Philadelphia area.
“I’ve been making pizzas since I was 8 years old,” he said today. “I had my first restaurant when I was 19.”
Favoroso has been visiting the Myrtle Beach area since 1991 and had a few seasonal pizza shops here, but six months ago he moved here permanently and recently opened Pizzoli’s Pizzeria in the Big Block Junction shopping center off S.C. 544, in the former location of East of Chicago Pizza.
It is a carry-out shop, and delivery is available.
Specialty pizzas ($11-$17) have thin and crispy, yet foldable, crusts, and choices include Barbecue Chicken with roasted garlic, Buffalo Chicken topped with Ranch dressing, White, Pesto with roasted peppers, Margherita, Shrimp Pesto, Spinach with feta, Artichoke, Meat Combo and more. Diners can also choose to create their own pies from a long list of toppings that includes roasted eggplant, roasted red peppers, Kalamata olives and roasted garlic.
Pizzoli’s also offers Breadsticks and Buffalo wings and several salads like Spinach, Mediterranean and Caesar. The $7 Pizzoli’s Salad as Romaine, Roma tomatoes, red onions, Kalamata olives, fresh mushrooms, mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette.
Calzones are $8.50-$11 with choices such as Spinach and Artichoke and Chicken Pesto; Stromboli are $11; and sandwiches ($7.50-$7.75) include Philly Cheese Steak (wit’ Wiz), Grilled Chicken Parmesan, vegetarian Spinach or Roasted Eggplant/Red Pepper sandwiches, Meatball and Sausage.
Two pasta dishes ($9-$9.50) are Lasagna and Spaghetti with Meatballs.
On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Favoroso is offering a free specialty pizza with the purchase of a specialty pizza.
Pizzoli’s Pizzeria is at 3901 S.C. 544, and the number is (843) 215-6672. It’s open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
