Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, Murrells Inlet – The Hot Fish Club in Murrells Inlet has much exciting news and many recent changes, including a Fall Fish Fest this weekend where diners get a lot of value for $20.
The Fall Fish Fest starts at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. From 2-7 p.m. people who pay $20 for a wristband get all the fish and chips, pulled pork, slaw, macaroni and cheese and hushpuppies they care to eat, plus all the draft New South Oktoberfest and Nut Brown Ale they care to drink (if age 21 or older).
A cornhole tournament starts at 6 p.m., and sampling tents will be on site for Bacardi and Jack Daniels products.
A stage is being set up outside for live music that starts at 2 p.m. and continues through 2 a.m. Scheduled performers are Cliff Beach, Nick & The Animal, The Mobros, and John Satterfield & His Damn Fine Band with special guest Mac Leaphart.
As for the other exciting news at Hot Fish Club, there is a new executive chef who is changing up the menu.
Brian Stewart is an experienced executive chef whose prior experience includes 12 years at the highly acclaimed Sassafras Southern Bistro in Greenville. During his time there, Sassafras was named one of the top 101 restaurants in the United States by New York City Magazine.
“I want to bring a little something different to the Inlet,” Stewart said on Sept. 26, “with fresh vegetables and creative presentations.”
You’ll soon learn more about the new menu, and here is an advance peek: Pecan Crusted Rainbow Trout with Pear Butter, Bacon-Seared Green Beans and Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes.
Also, Hot Fish Club is now open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
