Georgetown Restaurant Had No Hot Water

Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, Myrtle Beach – No hot water, raw chicken on a cutting board at 87 degrees and a milk bath at 75F contributed to a Georgetown restaurant getting the lowest possible B score during its health and safety inspection.
Buzz’s Roost on Front Street in Georgetown earned a score of 78 for that violation and several others including food not stored at least six inches off the floor, food stored uncovered, dirty kitchen staff clothing and dirty equipment and floors.
Each week we publish the current week's restaurant inspection health and safety scores for Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. We also publish the full reports from any inspection with scores lower than an A.
Readers will notice in the full reports references regarding which part of the regulations established by the S.C. Dept. of Health and Environmental Control were violated.

When you see a 10 in the listing, that means the DHEC food inspector made a routine unannounced visit. A 15 indicates a follow-up visit where only items in violation during a previous routine visit are inspected. The inspectors use a checklist of 36 items.
Inspection grades are:
A: 88-100
B: 78-87
C: 70-77
