Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, North Myrtle Beach – Barefoot Resort Bar & Grill in North Myrtle Beach was closed in May by Howie Lavin, but now it has new owners and a new name.
Jim and Donna Finley, who also own Harry the Hat’s on Lake Arrowhead Road in Myrtle Beach, are the new owners of Putters Pub. The roomy restaurant has a menu full of dishes that nearby residents say they’re enjoying.
Putters Pub is beside the Callaway Performance Center at Barefoot Resort, at the driving range, and the public is welcome to dine there. It has two large rooms – one with the bar, several tables and video games, and another with a pool table and fireplace that handles the overflow crowds who show up to watch football games on the 15 televisions.
The restaurant has wood-fired pizzas including a Philly Pizza, seafood baskets with shrimp or grouper, and burgers including the Big Dog Burger with ham, bacon, provolone, lettuce, tomato and onions.
There are Taco Salad, Steak Salad and Chicken Salad (grilled, fried, Cajun, Buffalo or Caesar) and a soup of the day. On Oct. 7 two soup choices were Italian Wedding or Vegetable.
Sandwiches are $8-$10 with choices including Home-style Pot Roast, Tuna Melt, Crab Cake Sandwich, Open-Faced Strip, Old Fashioned BLT and Roethlisberger, which has hot sausage and Philly steak sautéed with peppers and onions and topped with provolone. The Tuscan Chicken Sandwich has a grilled breast topped with a whole half of a roasted red pepper and melted provolone on a toasted Kaiser roll.
Finger foods are portioned big enough to share, like Maryland Style Crab Dip, Buffalo Chicken Dip and Stuffed Banana Peppers smothered in house-made red meat sauce and cheese.
Four dinners offer a choice of Pork Chops, Ribeye Steak, Crab Cakes and Surf and Turf (ribeye and crab cake) that are priced $20-$22 and come with two side dishes. Side dishes are onion rings, baked potato, fries, house-made chips, sweet potato fries, side salad and vinaigrette slaw.
It’s open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight, and happy hour is from 4-7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays when appetizers are $1 off and Bud Light and Yuengling drafts are $2.50. There’s karaoke on Wednesday and Saturday nights, and on Tuesdays they host Team Trivia.
Putters Pub is at 5183 Barefoot Resort Bridge Rd., and the number is (843) 390-3227.
