Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, Grand Strand – Two restaurants have closed in Surfside Beach and Conway.

Murray & Mike’s Restaurant Bake Shop at 799 U.S. 17 Business S. in Surfside Beach had its last day of business on Sunday. Owner Murray Stahler says the original location at 2954 Howard Ave. at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach will remain open, and he plans to soon move into another Surfside Beach location.

Leigha Powell opened Rivertown Java in July at 1028 3^rd Ave. in Conway, but the business is now closed and furnishings have been removed. In addition to coffees and teas, she served milkshakes, pastries and sandwiches.
