Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, Surfside Beach and Conway – Two restaurants, one in Surfside Beach and one in Conway, have closed.

The closed restaurant in Surfside Beach is Cool Daddy’s Bar & Grill at 670 U.S. 17 S. in Surfside Beach. Phil Salone opened it in May; he opened the first Cool Daddy’s about three years ago at 300 9^th Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach, which also closed.

In recent years the Surfside Beach location has formerly been the site of Sopprafino Italian Restaurant, and before that a Mexican restaurant, and before that a Japanese restaurant.

The other closure is Might as Well Bar & Grill at 3505 S.C. 544, which has a Conway address and is near the intersection with U.S. 501. It opened in October 2009.

A staff member at the Wilmington location of Might as Well says the Conway closure is temporary, and it will reopen.
