More than 5 million restaurant reviews submitted to Open Table, an on-line restaurant reservation service, resulted in SeaBlue Restaurant & Wine Bar in North Myrtle Beach being named as having one of the Top 100 wine lists in the United States. Brew at the Zoo
Ahhhh, what could be finer than beer in South Carolina, especially if you get to drink it in a gorgeous Lowcountry garden? Brew at the Zoo takes place from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet. Tickets are $40 for the public and $35 for Brookgreen members, and the deal includes tastings of more than 30 craft beers, appetizers, a tasting glass, live music from Bullfrog and permission to take a lovely night stroll through Brookgreen’s Lowcountry Zoo. Ladies’ Night Out at The Melting Pot will help fight breast cancer the evening of Monday, Oct. 29. Halloween on the MarshWalk

What: Children can go trick-or-treating at the restaurants from 5-6 p.m. and take part in a Children’s Costume Parade. Meet at the pirate statue at Drunken Jack’s at 6 p.m. for a children’s costume contest with first-, second- and third-place prizes for scariest, funniest and most creative costumes. For the adults, there will be drink and dinner specials and a 10 p.m. costume contest at Drunken Jack’s with $1,500 for first place, $750 for second place and $350 cash plus $175 in restaurant gift certificates for third and fourth places. The contestants have to visit each of the seven MarshWalk restaurants and collect a paper bracelet to be eligible for judging and prizes.

Meet Boxing Legends
Boxing legends Merciless Ray Mercer, Michael Moorer, Buddy McGirt, Bobby Czyz and Don Steele will be at Rodeo Bar & Grill at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach from 8-11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. Tickets are $10, or $50 for VIP tickets, and there will be photo and autograph opportunities. Tickets will be available at the door, but you can purchase them in advance by calling Mark Krom at (954) 554-6374. The event is in support of FIND A DREAM, a “local non-profit foundation for disadvantaged youth.” The event also includes a silent auction, and one of the items is a boxing glove autographed by Jake Lamotta.

Prohibition
Dress as your favorite bootlegger, flapper or revenuer for a post-Halloween event from the Roaring 20s.
The latest in vodka, gin, tequila, whiskey, bourbon, scotch, rum and cordials will be presented at Prohibition: A Celebration of Fine Spirits, scheduled for 7-10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at House of Blues. Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 the day of. Special VIP tickets are $75 in advance or $100 the day of, and they include a cigar bar with a complimentary cigar and “secret access” to a private room with exclusive liquors such as Macallan 18 and Cointreau Noir, a full buffet and photo ops with ladies from Thee Dollhouse.

Bluegrass and Biscuits
If you want to get technical about it, this event should be called Bluegrass, Beer and Biscuits. This fund-raiser for Hope House of Myrtle Beach and Coastal Animal Restaurant takes place from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at the Southern Living Showcase Home, which is at 7464 Catena Lane in the Seville subdivision at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach. Tickets are $25, and Bojangles is providing biscuits and other finger foods; Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is bring kegs of beer; and The Spots will get pickin’ with their bluegrass music. Illuminated Holiday
Holiday candles will be available for purchase and complimentary samples of sparkling wines and appetizers will be offered at Illumination, a holiday event taking place from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at Dirty Dicks Crab House in North Myrtle Beach.
For $15, a three-course holiday meal will include a choice of salad or pumpkin bisque; a choice of ham, fried turkey, chicken, shrimp and bacon macaroni and cheese, jambalaya or shrimp etouffee; and a choice of white chocolate bread pudding, key lime pie, apple pie or pumpkin pie. Barbecue and Bazaar
Barbecue plates will be available for $8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, at Belin United Methodist Church at 3579 U.S. 17 Business in Murrells Inlet. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., church members are having a bazaar sale, and there will be entertainment from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Souper Supper
Lots of soups, breads and desserts will be available for one small fee from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, during the Myrtle Beach American Culinary Federation Souper Supper at Valor Park in The Market Common in Myrtle Beach. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults or $7 for children. Advance tickets that can be purchased at MyrtleBeachACF.com are $11 or $6, plus tax.
Fish Fry
For $8 per box, the African American Community Coalition will dish up fried fish, grits or fries and slaw from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at Belin United Methodist Church at 3579 U.S. 17 Business in Murrells Inlet.
Oyster Roast
Tickets are being sold for $30 for all-you-care-to-eat steamed oysters at the Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast taking place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Twisted Sister Marina in Murrells Inlet (4123 U.S. 17 Business).
