Myrtle Beach Restaurant Gets C Grade Inspection Score - Again

Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, Myrtle Beach – A Myrtle Beach burger restaurant that has previously had health and safety issues earned a C score, and an oceanfront Myrtle Beach resort had a B score in this week’s restaurant health and safety inspections.
Ron Jon’s Beer & Burgers scored 74 this week due to employees not properly washing their hands, unlabeled bottles containing chemicals, a dirty microwave, slicer and ice machine, and several more violations. In October 2011 Ron Jon’s had a B score, and that same month it also had a C score.
The Patricia Grand Resort in Myrtle Beach had a score of 82, in part because the inspector observed dirty food contact surfaces and no soap or paper towels at a dirty hand-washing sink.
Each week we publish the current week's restaurant inspection health and safety scores for Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. We also publish the full reports from any inspection with scores lower than an A.
Readers will notice in the full reports references regarding which part of the regulations established by the S.C. Dept. of Health and Environmental Control were violated.

When you see a 10 in the listing, that means the DHEC food inspector made a routine unannounced visit. A 15 indicates a follow-up visit where only items in violation during a previous routine visit are inspected. The inspectors use a checklist of 36 items.
Inspection grades are:
A: 88-100
B: 78-87
C: 70-77
