Weekend Restaurant News Roundup

Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, Myrtle Beach - Super Bowl parties, a seasonal restaurant reopening, happy hour specials and a new club for beer lovers are on tap in our weekend Myrtle Beach restaurant news roundup.

 

Super Bowl parties

 

The party is from 2-6 p.m. at Papi's Texican Grill in Little River. For $10 per person, food includes hamburgers, hot dogs and wings. There will be specially priced drinks and raffles for several prizes, including a 32-inch LCD television.

 

Capt. Poo's Bar & Grill in North Myrtle Beach is having a Super Bowl bash starting at 5:30 p.m. For $20 per person, which will be collected at the door, the evening includes all beverages and a spread of food.

 

The Roost in Socastee is having a Super Bowl party that starts at 3 p.m. For $25 the deal includes "all the special selected draft beer you can drink and a $5 square on the board....Free pizza at halftime."

 

House of Blues at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach is inviting customers to bring their own chairs and come watch the Super Bowl in the Music Hall for free on the 40-foot screen. Popcorn will be sold for $1, hot dogs are $2, and there will be $2 drink specials during the game.

 

Broadway Louie's at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach is having a tailgate party from 3-5 p.m. with half-price burgers and $8 pizzas, plus a round of Tailgate Trivia. They'll also have day-long drink and food specials, and the Bud Girls will be on site playing NFL Bingo with prizes such as an iPad2 and a 42-inch television.

 

Reopened for season

 

Cagney's opens tonight for its 37th season. The first 20 tables "get a prize." Cagney's is known for Prime Rib, She-Crab Soup, steaks and seafood, and many people stop by for appetizers and happy hour martinis. Cagney's is on Restaurant Row at the north end of Myrtle Beach at 9911 N. Kings Highway, and the number is (843) 449-3824.

Beer Lovers Unite!

 

A fellowship of fine beer lovers is inviting others who appreciate the flavors and nuances of craft beers to join them for a Fat Tire Party from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Damon's Grill in North Myrtle Beach. Drafts will be $3, and there will be "munchies and giveaways." You can find out more about this group at http://myrtlebeachbeerlovers.com/. On their Facebook page, they're giving away a six-pack to one of their fans every time they get another 100 likes.

 

New happy hour specials

 

Fibber's on the Water in Little River announced the return of its happy hour from 4-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays with select draft beefs for $2, domestic bottles at $2.50, 6-ounce glasses of house wines for $4, $3 well drinks, $4 Bloody Marys and $4 Guinness pints. A new beverage on tap is Woodchuck Hard Cider. Fibber's also has happy hour appetizer prices, and all of the following dishes are $5: Fried Calamari, Spicy Pub Shrimp, Shrimp Fritters and Mozzarella Wedges.
