Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, Conway - Tim and Tacy Bennett are soon opening Rivertown Pizza a little east of Conway beside U.S. 501 Business.

The couple, who are Realtors and have much experience with business ownership, are excited about owning and operating their first restaurant. Tacy Bennett is also a retired schoolteacher, and says now that they have two children in college and one who will soon be college age, she and her husband thought this mom and pop venture would help pay some tuition bills.

About the second week in March the Bennetts will be ready to start serving pizzas and subs.

"We like New York style thin crust," Tacy said, "and we'll have lots of lunch specials."

No food delivery will be available, nor will alcohol be served.

Rivertown Pizza is at 1315 U.S. 501 Business, in a new strip shopping center beside Oliver's Luncheonette near the intersection with French Collins Road. The phone isn't yet hooked up, but the number will be (843) 347-2100, and operating hours are planned for 10 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and until 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
