Wednesday, May 23, 2012, Grand Strand - A new Mexican restaurant is being planned in Murrells Inlet, another pizza restaurant is moving into Surfside Beach and a Myrtle Beach restaurant is closed.
Fuego Mexican Grill & Cantina
A forthcoming restaurant is Fuego Mexican Grill & Cantina, which is going into the waterfront Murrells Inlet spot that was most recently Captain Poo's, at 4871 U.S. 17 Business.
The owner, who is purchasing the property, is Robert Kleszcz. He has lived in Myrtle Beach for more than 20 years, and he owns Roberto's Italian Ice in Myrtle Beach, plus some bars.
But this Murrells Inlet restaurant is and has been his ultimate goal.
"I love it here," he said on May 22 at the Murrells Inlet site. I want to buy a house and live here too."
Kleszcz said Fuego will be ready to open in about a month.
The area's second Little Caesars Pizza (the first is off S.C. 544 near Coastal Carolina University) is soon opening in Surfside Beach, in the Beaver Run Boulevard Wal-Mart plaza next to Subway.
Little Caesar's is currently hiring cashiers, pizza makers and dough makers. Interested applicants should apply in person between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays at the Conway location at 1300 East S.C. 544.
Country Cookin' & Sammiches
On Oct. 10, 2011, Robert and Michelle Arroyo opened Country Cookin' & Sammiches for buffet lunches and sandwiches, at 4620 Dick Pond Rd. in the Socastee area of Myrtle Beach, in the Boardwalk Shopping Center.
The restaurant has been closed for a few days, and a sign on the window says it is "under transition" and "closed temporarily."
