Wednesday, June 13, 2012, Myrtle Beach - Two restaurants in the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach closed this week.
One is American Bistro, which opened in April at 1004 Glenforest Rd. in the former Max & Erma's location, has been closed this week. A sign on the front door says it is "Closed Tempory," and no one answers the phone. Furnishings are still in the building.
Behind American Bistro, in the shopping center where a now-closed Piggly Wiggly grocery store used to be the anchor at 2132 Oakheart Rd., La Hacienda Mexican restaurant closed. Its furnishings have been removed.
The other La Hacienda restaurant at 5711 Dick Pond Rd. in the Socastee area of Myrtle Beach remains open, and staff says there are no plans for that location to close. The number there is (843) 650-3588.
