Tuesday, July 14, 2009, Murrells Inlet – The little shop in St. James Plaza was first a coffee shop and then an ice cream shop. Now it is dynamite!
Patrick Wiggins opened Dynamite Deli a month ago, and the family-operated business has Philadelphia roots. Patrick and his mom and dad, Tom and Jean Wiggins, and his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Justin Wiggins, are all working in the shop and all bring their expertise and knowledge.
First of all, Tom explains, they don’t sell Subs or Blimpies or Wedges. They sell Hoagies, which he says have “wet bread, and end with ham rather than cheese.”
The Hoagies at Dynamite Deli feature bread from Benjamin’s Bakery, and Boar’s Head meats and cheeses which can also be purchased by the pound. Several salads are made fresh daily, like Pasta Salad, Macaroni Salad, Coleslaw, Tomato/Cucumber Salad and Fruit Salad with cantaloupe, watermelon, strawberries and green grapes.
A current lunch special is a 6-inch Hoagie, 1 bag of chips, 1 bag of cookies and a can of soda for $5.
Dynamite Deli is at 10799 S.C. 707, and the number is (843) 650-1889. They’re open from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
