Owners still have Pizza Romana in Myrtle Beach By Becky Billingsley Tuesday, March 9, 2010, Conway – When David Frederick of Conway went to Southside Frankie’s on Sunday, he found the staff moving all the furniture out of the 2-year-old restaurant.
“Are you open?” Frederick asked one of the employees.“No,” he was told, “Last night was our last night.”
“That’s too bad,” Frederick replied, “because I just bought $100 worth of half-price coupons.”
The employee suggested trying to redeem the coupons at Pizza Romana at 701 S. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, because men who owned Southside Frankie’s also own Pizza Romana.
Those men are brothers Leon Petersen and Mark Petersen, who moved to the Grand Strand from the Niagara region of Canada. On Monday the interior of Pizza Romana was piled high with furniture and equipment from Southside Frankie’s, and employees were trying to figure out where to store it all.
Southside Frankie’s was at 117 Rivertown Blvd. in Conway, in Rivertown Commons. The Petersens did not respond to contact attempts on Monday. |
