Georgetown Restaurants

Georgetown was settled in the 1700s, and its port was a hub of activity during the Revolutionary War. The area was extremely prosperous from rice plantations before the Civil War.

Today Georgetown has one of the most beautiful and preserved historic districts in the Grand Strand. If it isn’t your main destination, Georgetown is certainly worth a side trip.

The specialty is Shrimp and Grits with tasso ham and Andouille sausage; a bonus is a fresh-baked fluffy biscuit hidden under the grits. The Herb-crusted Grouper, McClellanville Crab Cakes and Pecan Chicken Salad are all delicious. The building is historic, the ambiance cozy and warm and there’s a great view of the Sampit River.
